Thread: Just Bought at Auction

My wife and I often go to a local auction - usually we just go for the viewing and leave bids - we don't usually go the night of the auction which is Saturday. This weekend we left a bid and dropped in today to check what we might have one. One of the items we left a bid on was a small box of junk jewelry that included a button hook (which is why my wife left a bid on it) and a straight razor (see image).

We won the box for the $15.00 bid my wife left.

She got the button hook - I got the razor.

The edge has a chip near the toe and there is rust scaling here and there on the blade.

The almost brand new looking box states:
KEEN KUTTER (on the longer piece of the box)

I'd say you got your $15 worth. The scales look great and the blade is in really good condition. Looks like a little worke on a hone and you should be ready to go. I have used a SR for 15 - 20 years. Most of my razors were acquired the same way or at garage sales. I am still using them plus a few brand new razors. Good luck and enjoy.

Ya gotta love auction and pawn shops, got a pretty good deal the chip should come out pretty good. I walked into a pawn shop and asked about straightr razors and they said they had 2 in the case and one that just came in and the 2 in the case were not what I was looking for but the new one I saw and asked how much they said $15 I asked if they would take $12 they said yes and I walked away with a Dubl Duck hand forged, I thought it was a decent buy...Good junk box, gotta look for more auctions, God help me the RAD is growing
