I live 8 miles from the ocean and I keep mine out of the bathroom. Leaving them in a humid environment is a chance I wouldn't take.

You can buy (flea-bay) desiccant packets and store one with each razor (or a bunch of them in a larger storage unit); they're inexpensive, and really do the job!

I've used a very light coat of Tuf-Glide on my straight razors; dunno if it helped, but I doubt it hurt.

I live on an island and yup everything outside rusts and then rusts some more. I wax and oil my razors and never take them to the beach or leave them outside. So far mine seem to be fine. I think a lot of it is about being sensible and watching the humidity.

i live spitting distance from the sea and dont have a problem. i dont even bother to oil the ones i have in rotation. i definetly wouldnt keep them in the bathroom though if you have any carbon blades. the rust i get on my plants in the garden is horrendous though

Great responses, thanks! It looks l"ll have to move out of the bathroom. I'm also considering getting a hygrometer just to see what the numbers are.
