Thanked: 3164...and no sense whatsoever. There is no modern 'Damascus' steel - the art of making it was lost long ago. The only known facts are that wootz steel was exported from India to the Middle East. Surviving examples of damscus steel swords do not have a pattern even remotely similar to that - or any of the other pattern-welded razors, often visually monstrous that show up from time to time.
I guess the platinum is worth its weight, but the razor - ugh!

$30,000? That's nothing. As far as I know, the world's most expensive razor isn't even a straight. The Zafirro Iridium is made out of sapphire and metorites, and runs $100,000. Link: The Zafirro Iridium razor.
Way too costly a shave, if you ask me.
