That Gold Dachs doesn't look too shabby at all and should hone up nice if Brooksie has anything to with it. I think you lucked out both ways. Have fun.

I have had a GoldDachs for a few months. No where near shave ready but a little time on the hones and it shaves just fine. Not a bad buy especially if you hone your own.

Hi my Name is Torsten, I am from Golddachs. Yes, we produce the straight Razors in Solingen. We are part of Pfeilring, Pfeilring was founded in 1896 and is located in Solingen, Germany

I had a poor experience with these razors. The grind was shoddy, the bevel uneven, and they didn't take a good edge.

To add to what Torsten wrote:
I stumbled across below offer from an Internet pharmacy in Freiburg, Germany that read:

    Name: RASIERMESSER schwarz Kunststoff GOLDDACHS
    Einheit: 1 Stück

    Hersteller oder Anbieter: PFEILRING

    Translated:

Name: STRAIGHT RAZOR, black plastic, GOLDDACHS
    Unit: 1 piece
    Manufacturer or Supplier: PFEILRING

Pfeilring is indeed located in Solingen, Germany, has been in existence for about 115 years, and is generally better known for scissors, nail files etc.

FWIW, I came across some similar looking Mühle (of R41 DE razor fame) RM30 ⅝ straight razors that were exceedingly good value at the equivalent of $74.-
Didn't take much to make them shave-ready and I thought they were a steal at that price.
Unfortunately, they didn't come in any other size, and Mühle is unable to procure any more. I had long suspected Dovo to be the manufacturer, but Pfeilring might be another option, as I cannot imagine Wacker, Aust or many others to produce a decent ⅝ at this price.

    Hope this helps....
