Thanked: 10I do both. IMO straights are tools, tools are meant to be used, but that doesn't mean they can't be appreciated for their looks as well.

Takes all kinds. Ferdinand Porsche built his cars to be driven (hard); I drive my '87 Carrera rain or shine. My pipes are smoked. My razors values to me are in their utility, not their collectability.
Nevertheless I will drool at the "Porsche By Design" exhibit coming to the Raleigh Art Museaum this Fall; I love looking at exotic and pristine briars at pipe shows and I greatly admire the vintage refurbs and originals seen in SRP member collections.
