Thanked: 284Japanese Westerns
I like the idea of owning razors from various origins and particularly trying to find a Japanese western razor.
Are there some recommended vintage makers to keep an eye out for? Do they come up often? Or maybe this has been covered in another thread? Thanks.I love living in the past...

I found both of mine in the classifieds here. One is a wedge, the other a full hollow. Both are great shavers. They tend to have odd (to us) names like "Morning Swan." I've been told that many are made of Swedish steel.
Keep your eyes peeled, you'll find one.

Many of the usual suspects made razors for the eastern market and have Japanese script on them. Of course they aren't Japanese westerns, more Western Japanese.

Thanked: 284Thanks guys. Interesting fact about some of them being made and just branded as Japanese - kinda like a lot of US branded razors made in Germany. Good to know! Not that they're inferior, but something to look for if I'm trying to find one native to Japanese makers.
