What would you guys say the scales are make of? It doesn't say
This link is from Revisor's site/from Spare Parts:

    Ersatzteile

    Further research shows this:

Bocote | The Wood Database - Lumber Identification (Hardwoods)

I hope this has been of some help!

Nice work! That site is a bit tricky to navigate...
Looks nice though, and I've been yearning for a razor in wood scales for some time now.

I have the identical razor/scales. It does apear to be Bocote. Up close, it looks similar to dark stained oak but feels smoother and denser.

Not sure if anyone's read this interview with Thomas the CEO of Revisor but it's a good read and tells you exactly how they hone their razors. Straight Razor Magazine: Interview with Thomas Kronenberg, CEO at Revisor GmbH

CEO's dad sets the bevel on a stationary disk grinder (yowza) and does the rest on a "yellow stone", I'm assuming coticule.

Let us know how the edge is when you get it?

I've been drooling looking at the Revisor site for months, and I finally caved.

For a while I've been admiring the elegance of blades with a very straight pattern and a square point, so I ordered one of these.

They've been very quick so far too - I put my order in Sunday evening, my invoice with PayPal details was here early Monday morning and I paid right away, and early this morning I got notification it has shipped together with a tracking number.

With a bit of luck I'll be shaving with it in a few days!

Size: 24.2 KB we'll look what came in the mail today!! I waited to shave til it got here.. The razor is very well made.. The details on the blade itself are just great..had some light scratches on it probably from the honing.. And yes gents it did come shave ready.. I was skeptical.. Before I shaved I stropped on scrub leather 10 times and premium leather 20 times.. It shaved very smooth.. From what I have read they set the bevel by machine then finish by hand on a coticule.. It was a great shave.. I would recommend any body in the market for a new razor to take a look at the revisior I'm impressed!
