Thanked: 0Fake Henckels?
Hello all!
I bought a razor from ebay, and kept it a secret from a friend. Then I showed it to him because I was really like wanting to be like 'LOOK WHAT I GOT!'
Sadly he told me a lot of Henckels where counterfeited/faked in China so I wanted to upload the pics here and see if you know if these are counterfeit yes or no.
So what do you guys think? Please help!

If its a fake, I have the same fake - and love the shaves. Its identical, right down to the wear or lack of edge extending below the shoulder. We'll both have to raise that shoulder to hone well.
A friend that *loves* his Friodur couldn't wait to hear how I liked the shave. Partially to get his goat, I said: 'its boring'. A few lines down, I added - in all the right ways. Its easy to hone, easy to shave with, gives a good shave even when the edge is fading. Its reliable as a brick when it comes to giving a good shave.

Thanked: 0So your saying my razor looks exactly like yours does? Could you have pics. I could if I wanted not accept it in front of my door, so it gets send back. The only question is, what seller sold it to you, could you pm me his name? I would like to know from you.
Thanks a lot if you can help me!

That's no fake everything about it is right, now the Chinese can't even get the finish right on their own Gold Dollars so how on earth are they going to replicate that double stabilizer the perfect tang stamps the scales plus the inlays and the spine etching plus the perfect blade symmetry, it's not beyond a really good faker but that kind of level of work to get it right certainly wouldn't be worth a cheap labour Chinese sweat shops effort, to big a project and outlay to try and produce such a high end razor in my opinion.

Thanked: 0Though it happened to Pinklather, he got such a fake in his hands it seems. That's the problem if it is a really good fake... Well who knows. A friend told me the only way to know is to shave. But if this one is exactly the same as Pink-Lathers and the from the same seller well...
I don't know it looks perfect indeed.... But damn I'm at a loss.

I see no reason to think that yours is a fake. For the money it would cost to make such a high quality fake I can't see it being done. I won't ask what you paid for it unless you want to pm me with it but if it's on par then you shouldn't have paid too much. Def not a gold dollar etc quality.

Thanked: 480You people worry too much. IF there were so many Chinese faked out Henckles, there would be a club here on SRP called "Fee Fie Faux Frioudur!"

We have never seen a true fake of any kind on this forum. The fact is, to be economically viable they would have to sell tens of thousands of them and that ain't gonna happen.

This is a perfectly fine Henckels, I have honed a ton of those, they come from Japan and are super fine shavers.
With all due respect your friend has more to learn about razors it seems.Stefan

Not even a remote chance that is a fake. Counterfeiting brand name razors would be a losing proposition in short order.
