Default Can someone tell me about a Geo. Wostenholm & Sons Double Concave IXL Razor

I recently purchased a Geo. Wostenholm & Sons Double Concave IXL Razor gold etched with $3.00 etched on the blade as well. I was really surprised when I received it to find there was absolutely no signs of use at all. It looks to be new with the exception of a few small discolorations. No spine wear, and the bevel is almost certainly factory. It would be a shame for a noob like me to mess up a rare piece. I have searched on the web but never found one just like it. Maybe it was a display model? I would appreciate any information, thanks. Here are some pic's.

There is at least one example of this razor in the Wostenholm razor club.

I believe, there're two examples at that thread.

That looks like a very nice razor!

I find it strange that it has no hone marks, but clear open-and-close marks around the tang. Why would the owner open and close their razor all the time without using it? If it was on display, I would expect it to be opened once and then left alone.
    I want a lather whip
