Is anybody else noticing these weird brands are all ground like gold dollars?

One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.

For me there is kind of a funny part of this thread, hah hah, those rascals, those 1.4 Billion rascals some of whom do not believe in any international laws. And when it comes down to feeding your family or following a law watching them starve, guess which option rules? I believe in the interconnectedness of people in the modern world, but I don't feel like it is going to work. I offer one simple solution to get back on the right track: name any manufactured product in the language of the country of origin...you can Anglicize the word (in the case of English). So you don't sell a shirt made in a sweat shop paying people pennies a day in China and call the line Hatfield's flannel shirts. You call them Lo Fun's flannel shirts. And you don't try to mislead a consumer by calling a razor a Morgenstond, you call it a Lo Fun Razor. I could take this a lot further, but it is a family show so I'll shut up.

Sorry but I have to comment here. If you would have not been so quick to judge you would have found out (by visiting and reading the seller's site) that this razor was originally discussed, named (yes in Dutch.... not German) and tested on a Dutch shaving forum, all in good understanding and acceptance by many forum members over there, as the main market would have been the Netherlands. The name has a nice ring to it, and has a funny old Dutch meaning, something that matches the razor well. This is even mentioned on the website, with a link the forum etc. Dutch people or any other non-English speaking people can name a product whatever they want, no matter where the product is made. Some Dutch folks (yes Dutch, not the oh so bad lawless Chinese, and I am 100% Dutch) suggested to introduce it to non-Dutch people who might be interested in it. Hence the site. Moreover, there hasn't been made any claim that this razor is made in Germany or whatever. In fact nobody cared were its made. Simply making the conclusion that some Chinese are selling these things to mislead people... reeks of xenophobia or something.

Just take it for what it is... a simple rugged razor. Referring to sweatshops, making sneering remarks towards Chinese, laws etc. and telling to name a product in the language were its coming from is quite silly.

Had a similar situation with a new knife that I bought on eBay. The knife's write up gave all kinds of info about the US designer, etc. and The US dealers' write up and description did not say that the knife was made in China. When I received it it had china stamped on it.
Emailed back to ask about this. Told that it was in ebay 'item specs'. They we right. From then on I always check 'item spec' to see if factory of origin is listed there.
( alway thought it would be in 'description', who knew!)

If the Chinese decided to put their efforts into making something other than Simple Rugged RLO's I'm sure they could knock one out of the park. But they don't seem to be doing that. I am not a xenophobe, I dislike everyone engaged in sleazy marketing just about the same. IMO, calling the Morgenstend a simple rugged razor is naive. Let's call it what it is, the 21st century Filarmonica.
