Thanked: 8I Think I'm Getting Addicted
Hello everyone, well tomorrow I am going to be sending my razor to Glen for the restore, and 8 days from now I'm going to buy another one! Lol I saw it the same day I saw the W&B it's a J.R.Torrey, looks like about a 4/8ths about $20 and in good shape Also I have had people ask me how much I paid for my W&B, I know I will be called a thief but they set the price Lol I only paid...$38 for it. Not too bad. But now I keep wanting to get more razors...Well no worries SWMBO will keep me in check....for the most part. Lol

Welcome to RAD. If straights were more plentiful over here I'd have tons.
I had to lay off a bit when we found out we were expecting and because of buying all of those bits I was unable to buy any more or afford to have mine honed back to shave ready. 8 weeks without a decent shave.
I'm constantly poking my beak into antique shops and asking. Just been pointed to a site that has lots of nice ones but Christmas is a couple of weeks away and I'm skint again.
Have fun, using a straight is great and finding ones which can be given a new lease of life is brilliant.

Biggest problem with this addiction...is that beards only grow so fast (and arm hairs too).

Thanked: 18You can't call yourself addict until you get the 30 razors.

Thanked: 24If it wasn't for RAD and hobbyists, i don't think straight razor shaving would've been around this long.

Thanked: 6Just tell the significant other that it's saving money by not having to buy cartridges.
Leave out the parts about strops, soaps, brushes, hones, sandpaper, emery cloth, etc.
I'm up to 6 now after 3 months of great shaves and my wife actually helps me look for more at antique shops.

I'm there.... SR shaving since September and I now have 13 straights, a EJ DE, a Shavette, and a Rolls Razor (just for show... I'm not putting that thing to my face... although it is sharp). I love that comment about hair only growing back so much.... Before this, I always hated shaving and would put it off as long as possible while using 3 month old cartridges .... now I often shave every day, with the exceptional day that I skip, just to make the next day even better insane I know haha
