Thanked: 38Wacker? no a snake
On last October 20th I ordered and paid for the new Wacker Jungmeister 7/8 on a German on-line shop. After some (several) issues including a wrong model delivery, slow (missing) email answers, useless phone call (German language only), I happily got the parcel from the post office on December 5th.
And this is what I found in the parcel: the latest model of Wacker snake:
The width is 21.5 mm at largest point and the spine is warped like a snake. It has an unforeseen evident smiling profile.
Of course it was far from shave ready.
I don't want to keep this razor, but my issue is:
do I claim my money back and close with Wacker or
do I insist to get a good Jungmeister that I waited for so long? Is there any chance to get it right?

If I were in your situation, I would try to return it for a refund. Search for another vendor & reach out to them prior to closing a deal & tell them what your past experience was & ask if they can do better. If there are no communication problems with the second vendor & you feel comfortable with them, then order.
or;
Consider placing an add in our classified section for someone who might be will to part with a nice Wacker for an acceptable price.

I think you mis-understood me in part 2 of my post,,,place an add "asking" if someone has a Wacker for "you".
I would not keep nor would I put that razor you have on anyone, regardless of their skill level,,,,the second option I gave you was to help you find a nice Wacker.
I'm sorry if my post was confusing,,,it's 5am here..

I would ask for a replacement given that you want that model - and specify that it must be checked over before being dispatched. If the vendor is unable to supply a replacement, take a refund and then contact Wacker directly through their website, explain the problem and establish if you can order a replacement. Of course if they have that model in stock (which they appear to have at the moment) you can order it straight away.
Art.Nr. 1087
Edit - this is the first time I've come across a problem with Wacker - I usually recommend them because of their quality. My Chevalier is very well made - apart from the nails instead of pins of course.Last edited by UKRob; 12-10-2013 at 01:25 PM.

Thanked: 3164I would ask for a refund.
Sounds like a good idea to go directly to Wacker, but your razor came from the Wacker factory originally and evidently it slipped through the quality control and honing departments - seems wierd that the honer did not reject it, especially as he had to resort to inducing a smile to overcome the problem.
I have a Livi 'snake' razor, but I would have blown my top if it was as snakey as yours!
Regards,
Neil

Thanked: 38Thank you all Gentllemen for your kind support, I accepted your advice and asked the seller to take the razor back.
At the same time I asked to Mr Wacker if he was able to personally guarantee the delivery of a new "good" razor.
I know that this last statement is ignoring the sound remark from pixelfixed and from some more friends of mine, but I liked so much my previous Wacker that I decided to keep the door open, I hope I'm not going to regret it.
I'm keeping you informed and thanks again
