Thanked: 2Where would one find a 2" long razor?
Does such a thing exist? I am looking to acquire a razor 2" long and whatever width, preferably 5/8, but the main selling point is how long the blade is. I like to grow a chinstrap beard and connect my mustache to my goatee for the winter. I have to angle my 3" Dovo 5/8 in a funny way to maneuver between my mustache and sideburn and at the least, the shave is less enjoyable, if not less smooth.
A 2" blade would slip in perfectly and sit flush to my face without the threat of lopping off any whiskers I want to stay. Do custom razor shops make such razors? I certainly don't see them in the big production inventories and I'm not interested in any hassle that may come with vintage razors.
Thanks!

I would contact some of the guys that do restoring. Some may have damaged blades that they can shape into what you are looking for.

Buy a damaged vintage blade on Ebay for a few dollars, probably the shipping will cost more than the razor. Send it to a restoration member in our classified section,,,,,give them instructions & end up with a nice short blade.

Funny seeing this thread cause I have been wanting a "shorty". I have one razor that has a short edge, but the rest of the razor is still long. Maybe some day I will get brave enough to turn one into a shorty. Good luck with the hunt.

Thanked: 1263Or you could contact Max Sprecher (Maximilian here on SRP) who does a custom "Micro Razor" with a small blade like you seek
Here's an example of his fine work

My Kamisori has a nice short blade, if you can get used to the difference in holding a razor without scales. I sport a beard in the Winter and it is definitely the easiest to get at all the corners with.

Send a request to Larry at Whipped Dog. He states that he keeps an eye out for the unusual and hard to find and he just might have what you are looking for in stock. He doesn't always list them so you need to ask. And the price and edge will be just right.

It's pretty easy to convert a razor into a "shorty". It'd work out really cheap if you can find a good razor with a damaged tip to convert.
