Thanked: 0Out of Stock?
Just wondering if anyones knows why so many straight razors are out of stock right now everywhere. The couple I was looking into are Dovo Bismarck, Boker Elelweiss, and a Boker King Cutter.
I was also wondering if Grim Blades are any good?
Thanks!

I would guess demand outpaces production. Remember, most straights are made by TI and Dovo and the straight making department is really pretty small at both
Based on what I hear folks who bought the Grimm seem to have a grim experience. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 634I agree it is the story of supply and demand. More and more people are getting into straight razor shaving every day. The supply can not keep up with the demand. Its the same on eBay. Razors that went for $10.00 are now bringing $20.00 - $30.00. Just hang in there and you will find what you want. Also consider a Ralf Aust from straight razor designs. I have one and like it better than my dovo. Good luck.

Agree on the rise in eBay prices. Not only have the prices gone up but the quality seems to have gone down.

Thanked: 6So I should be happy to be in a market where the antique shops within 100 miles call me when they get razors in and charge me peanuts for them? That may be because the wife buys larger items, but I still feel like I get deals on my razors and that's what counts, right? Right?

Thanked: 0Thanks for the advise on the Ralf Aust. They look like a really nice razor. You have shifted me away from the others I was looking at. I think its for the better. know I just can't decide to go with a rounded or a Spanish style blade. Mostly I just shave but I would like to do a chin gaurd every know and then.

Thanked: 634If you are a newbie I would go with the round point. Less chance of nicking yourself with the point.

Thanked: 0I am a noob. I have a Dovo Shavette right now. I got it first just to see if I was capable. I feel very confident. I got it down pat my second shave I felt. Ready to get a nice one now. I'm all ready up to 9 safety razors. These things are great. I have no idea why people stopped using things that worked in the first place.
