Whipped dog will give you a great shave ready blade for not a lot of coin, but if you have your heart set on something brand new, something like a theirs-Issard from SRD honed by Lynn will serve you very well.

Thanks RMarsh. I've been looking both of those sites over and really like them. I like connecting with people who sell products as a result of their passion and not just to make a profit. (not that making a profit is bad) WPDDOG and SRD are two great looking vendors.
I think my plan is to see what I have with my great grandfather's blades and then go from there. I think i'd really like to have a conversation with whipped dog.

Tim Zowada is more than capable of posting about his involvement.
As far as the owner of the business he was banned on this site two years ago, when he first started the business of marketing junk disguised as quality razors. We have repeatedly rejected his attempts to buy an endorsement from us, because this community is about helping prospective shavers, not about helping their fleecing.
