IMO, it's all about the edge. Could be who honed it just nailed the edge perfect for you. No matter how many razors you've there's always that one that seems better than the others.

TI makes a very good razor. In the past they have had QC issues mostly with scales and fitment but I don't know about their current production. I know Dovo also of late has issues too. I think the fit and finish of the Austs is better but I still think in the blade department TI beats them all in current factory production.

I purchased a nice TI from SRD and frankly struggled to become comfortable with it, and sold it on. Something about the blade geometry and my face / hands just didn't jive. The edge was good (from SRD) but it didn't come together for me the way other razors have.
that TI looks very nice, tho.

Thanked: 7I also have a collection TI Sparticus, Various Dovo's, Koorat near wedge, Hederer, and ML Grifetto. Dovo, Koorat and Hederer all pro honed.
They all give me a great shave but the Mastro Livi Grifetto is in a different league and is my go to razor.
Before I get the 'customs are just for show' I should point out that the Grifetto is not custom made, but an 'off the shelf' razor. I now have three, thanks to my wife's thoughtful present at Christmas.
I usually use a different razor everyday, but it's always the Grifetto's that give me the most comfortable and smooth shave. So that's my Favourite. The D in DMA is Duncan, my name.
