    Hey FBQ!

I have always been intrigued by the fraternity (as most people are) and recently it seems that everywhere I turn Freemason artifacts are appearing. I recently, deliberately purchased another blade with FM etchings and acquired an old G. Johnson with another surprise masonic etching that is very faded, and yet another antique razor with the square and compass on the tang with a box that has etchings as well, and another with the square and compass on the scales. I know there may be plenty of masonic items out there for purchase, but it's the ones that you don't know you picked up until after you bring it home that get me going!

Recently on my travels in search of treasure I was talking with a local antiques merchant and purchased a few razors (she was closed, but let me in). We talked for a while and then she told me that she had some mint condition Freemason completed certificates in frames, a gold ring and other masonic items that she has had for generations, but refused to sell and she keeps these at her place of residents, not at the store. She offered them to me for only a few dollars and told me she was happy to have finally met someone who she knew these belonged with. That was pretty special.

OH! I also acquired this book recently and have been browsing through it and learning a lot. It's very insightful! You can see my dirty hands in the picture from knife and sheath making and razor restoring lol....

My Brother, yes as you say it is true to unknowingly find symbols of the craft must be truly heartwarming. What a wonderful woman you met. She must have been part of the family in one way or another to know the value of the Fraternity to pass these along to you. I myself keep an eye out for regalia so I may find the Lodge or Commandery where they belong. So many swords with no true value have priceless meaning to it's originating home.

I am on a quest to find and own a Masonic razor now.

Be well, be safe, and enjoy your treasures.
