With plastic scales no less ......... I love Heljestrands but I've paid less than half that for MK 32 Helje with ivory.

I couldn't have guessed at the relative value of the razor, it demonstrates the .... backwardness of trying to find a razor to fit a price rather than deciding what you would like and seeing if it fits your budget.

    Thumbs up

I would buy one from Brian Brown Custom Razors. Here's a photo of one of my favorites by him:

There is an elegance to the blade -- complemented by the simplicity of the scales -- which reminds me of the flatware put out on the tables of a "tony" New York restaurant, during the first half of the 20th century... in fact, the blade looks like a really swell butter knife (and I can easily imagine the thick, starched linen tablecloth and napkins). From the first time I saw this razor (it's one of four photos), I was smitten. But I don't have $500 to buy a razor... sigh.

You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

I laughed for a solid ten seconds. May not sound like much but it was a hearty and from the depths laugh. Exhausting. But needed.

That is a very nice one, it reminds me a little of designs from the 1700s with its almost non existent heel. Does the spine come to a triangular sort of peak or is it just rounded? If it does peak then it surely got its inspiration from those old razors. Very nice comfortable looking smile.

    C'mon Jon ....... if you had a million bucks you wouldn't spend $500 on a razor .......

+1, my very first impression of the blade profile. Something I find quite attractive BTW.
