Ah, that's where I'm doing wrong! I say "the names Bond, Basildon Bond"... doesn't get the same effect...

I doubt the article's author has a very reliable or accurate denominator in their % increase calculation. Or numerator for that matter.

And then of course there's the "Sweeney Todd" effect. Even if there is an increase in razor sales, we always need to ask "what sort of razors?" Remember the post-Sweeney Todd movie influx of newbs packing paki letter openers wondering why they couldn't get a shave out of one?

Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!

Watch the following season 2 with kevin bacon... The serial killer shaves with a straight!!! But its a tad bit unrealistic !!! Really cool but every pass is like his angry(serial killer)
The razor makes a clink noise when he finishes the pass! Cool effect!

I was watching Mad Men last night and was wondering if they ever did any shaving scenes. My guess is that Draper uses a Gillette.

There was one episode where Mr. Cooper (principal owner of the agency) sends Draper and another to his barber for a haircut and shave. Afterwards Draper feels his face as though he's never gotten shaved that close.

I got super excited about learning to use a straight when I saw Sweeny Todd, but I had no idea how to get into it at the time and ended up with a pocket knife that had a blade shaped like a straight. I lost interest for a while after that setback, but I'm really happy I'm doing it the right way now!

It might be a Gillette DE - but its definitely a DE. The lather he created on the episode where he shaved with a DE was pathetic though lol! Perhaps they had to do a few takes and the later was dying lol!

He actually said it was the closest shave he's had! What I thought was cool was after the straight shave the barber puts the aftershave on Drapers hands and he slaps it on... Which see's him hollar lol!!

I have only got halfway through the 2nd season so I recalled that lol!

I can't say anything. I was one of the schmucks who started fly-fishing largely due to A River Runs Through It.
