New revisor factory edge
I was very surprised to find a note in my mailbox yesterday from Revisor. I went to pick up my new razor which took about a week to arrive from Germany.
I checked the edge with a 17x loupe and saw only a few spots that needed touch up. I stropped the razor on wool and leather then decided to shave with it this morning without correcting the slight unevenness in the edge. It shaved very close and again to my surprise, comfortable, with no nicks to my face. I only had to do two passes.
I did not check the razor after stropping but I can't imagine that took the chips out. Now I am not sure if I want to put it to a hone."The best way to have a good idea is to have a lot of ideas." -Linus Pauling

if it were mine i'd leave it alone. i think sometimes looking at a edge with magnification makes it look worse than it is. what really matters is how it shaves.

Old saying, if it works ........ don't fix it. I'd wait until it wasn't giving as comfortable a shave if it was mine.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

JTmke,
I concur with Jimmy. If it works for you, leave it alone for now. Or you can stop by the house and let me take a look at it. Revisors are fine razors, and Herr Kronenberg offers excellent service.

I am going to give it a few more shaves. Hopefully they will all be as nice as this mornings.

While I agree with the advice given above, I am a bit on the OCD side and I would probably give it a touch up

It depends what the defects were. 17x isn't a lot so....
If it's just an unevenness in the bevel that's nada and doesn't affect the shave in the least as you have found out. In that case just wait until the razor needs honing. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
