The tang looks very crude to me but the case is extra cool.

Thanked: 44If I win it at the price I've bid I'll just pay the chap and see what its like, for the price I'm willing to give the seller the benefit of doubt as I don't think he/she is been deliberately deceptive. I'm rarther curious now about it been magnetic now lol
If I do end up with it I'll post some better pics

I have one that claims to be "magnetic" a John Petty and Son's French Point, geometrically challenged but a sweet shaver when it is done up right.
It is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

I would go for it if cheap enough
I have 3 blades that are marked Magnetstahl or Magnetic and they are only very lightly magnetised but seams to make no difference to the shave.
the design theory could have been that the magnet effect attracks to the Iron in your blood making the razor stick to your skin resulting in a closer shave?
early testing may have concluded that only a weak magnetic force should be used as a strong magnetic force could possiblity attract the blade to the iron in your blood so much that the blade could try to reach it through your skin & make contact setting it free LOLSaved,
to shave another day.

Thanked: 1184Ever tried to cut or drill a hole in a magnet ? Think HARD. So the sales pitch is that it is hard steel :<0) I have a nice Marx Magnetic. My other razors seem jealous because when I grab it they all want to come along. For safety's sake I had to separate them. I don't remember it being any harder to hone but it does shave well off the 8k.
That razor has problems near the spine and on the edge. At the very least you are going to lose the etch and from what I can see at least 3/32 or more of the width. For the price this would be a nice razor to learn restoring on. Lots of hand sanding (unless your proficient with power tools) and some serious edge restoration. I bet a box of doughnuts it is magnetic to some degree.Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 44I didn't win the auction, it went for £19.80 ($33.40) including postage. I would have liked to have got that one but not at that price, plenty more though to have a look at and for £16 I'm sure there are much better razors to be snatched up

It's a scientific fact the magnetic razor interacts with the iron in your blood pulling the blood to the surface and thereby making the whiskers stand up better for a better shave.
