Thanked: 0Thank you for your reply. It must be a good quality razor, since I saw a few of these (but another type) on eBay going at high prices. These types also got some nice comments on other fora. But on this type I haven't been able to find any history. The backside of the tang (sorry, forgot a pic) is indeed marked "forgé & évidé Solingen".
It is a very nice razor indeed. I tried it for the first time yesterday, and it gave a very nice shave. It was very sharp, but very smooth at the same time. The guy I bought it from from honed it on a succession of Naniwa's up to 12k, then stropped on the paddlestrop from Rasurpur with latigo and bridle. I hone on the same Naniwa succession, but then strop on balsa with Crox and Feox and conclusively on the Poorman's strop. This also gives me a very sharp edge, but it seems to be a bit raw compared to the edge of this Colibri.
Anyway, I hope someone can help me to find some history on this brand and this particular razor.Last edited by dutchcutthroat; 08-17-2014 at 07:58 AM.
I just LOVE the smell of sandalwood in the mornin', but a nice Tcheong Fung Sing bergamotto neroli will do too...
