Found some more. I'm now pretty sure it's not the French "Le Jaguar" but simply "Jaguar"
Jaguar
With points of sale in more than 80 countries JAGUAR is one of the world’s largest and most renowned manufacturers of hairdressing scissors and in most markets the market leader. The professional hairdressing implements, such as scissors, electrical appliances, brushes and accessories, are specially tailored to the needs of quality and design-conscious professional users.
Jaguar seems to be part of the Zwilling group. The logo is the same on my razor, even though it misses the text and font type of "Jaguar" on the newer logo, it is NOS, also the blade says Solingen, Germany, which might be odd for a French razor. The up and inwards curl of the tail and jumping silhouette are the same and typical:
So i might not have a Le Jaguar, but the Zwilling brand is known for quality and is assuring.
In 1932, Kurt Schmidt founded a steel articles factory in Solingen, a city which is famous for the manufacturing of cutlery. Jaguar was first introduced as a brand name for hairdressing shears in the late sixties, and a short time later it also became the company name. This name reflected specialization in producing hairdressing shears and marked the starting point for Jaguar to become one of the leading manufacturers in the world. The Solingen-based company Zwilling J.A. Henckels, recognized worldwide, has been a strong partner since 1988.
JAGUAR works intensively on innovations for hairdressing shears. Jaguar also offers a high-grade range of brushes, and electrical appliances. And with the introduction of the ThermoCut-System, Jaguar TC in 2000, hair cutting has become a wellness treatment.
JAGUAR's competence is a favorite of professionals in more than 80 countries worldwide.Last edited by ElaMenthol; 08-31-2014 at 06:45 AM.

Afaik Jaguar is also the old brand name of Puma.
Edit: Incorrect information, I misremembered the name. It is Tiger, not Jaguar.Last edited by ferroburak; 08-31-2014 at 01:04 PM.

You are right, Le Jaguar is a brand name from Thiers, France. Indeed, they have a completely different logo and stamping.
ferroburak, I think you are referring to Tiger, which predates Lauterjung & Sohns Puma brand.

Thanked: 0Hi all,
Sorry that I didn't introduced myself, but I can answer your question about this razor :-)
I've got one myself, and did a little search including getting in contact with Jaguar itself, and that was clearing up everything!
The razor was produced by Jaguar (not Le Jaguar), in the late 80's, and Jaguar is indeed a group brand of Zwilling J.A.Henckels.
They have confirmed that this is a product of them!! (whoohoo )
It truly is a very fine razor!!
Cheers Martijn
