Being that it is a 11/16, what difference should I expect from my 5/8 in shaving performance?

For a 1/16 of an inch difference,. about a micron change in angle on the face when shaving. That's my one, one hundredth of a cent opinion.

Not much, as Razorfeld sez. However, Robeson made different grinds. A numbering system will tell you what grinds were recommended for whom!

Looks as though if you have a tough, wiry beard and tender skin, you are set!

That's what I thought. Besides, I'm just looking for a good shaver with some character.

Millard Filmore Robeson didn't make any junk.

Your 15L400 is "ground and honed for tough wiry beard and tender skin (requires little stropping)"

If you're interested in seeing what Robeson made and learning about the company, check out

The gent that owns all that steel and the website is an amigo of mine. Charlie has been collecting Robesons and Terriers for about 30 years.

Click on the STRAIGHT RAZOR tab at the top of the page and you can see a copy of Robeson's advertisements for THE RAZOR THAT FITS YOU FACE and you can look up your model number and read what type of face and dispostion it was supposed to be for. YOu can also see some beautiful Robeson and Terrier razors.
