Thanked: 3New Find!
I recently acquired this blade from one of my customers. He came into my barber shop the other day and said he had a few old razors he wasnt using and asked if anyone wanted them? Without hesitation I jumped on that offer! To my surprise one of the razors was a beauty! The rest were junk But I am hoping to find some help with the Boker I got, I would like to restore it but am not sure how to restore the pearl inlay? Also what would be the best way to polish the blade without ruining the etching on it? Any info on that would be great! thanks -BRETT P.S. I apologize for the awful pictures.

Thanked: 884Sad to say but there is not much you can do with type of etch. The frosted background will disappear if you polish it. Sometimes minor dark spots can be less noticeable by using the point of a No2 lead pencil and wiping with a soft cloth.
That is a gorgeous old Boker with righteous "neighborhood" ( patina ). Were it mine, I'd oil it a bit and display it. Maybe clean it with soapy water, hone it, and use it every now and then too.Member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, participant SE Asia War Games 1972-1973. The oath I swore has no statute of limitation.

Thanked: 3I was afraid of that, what about the pearl? Is there anything that can be done to clean that?
