Thanked: 0I have one of the Hart 7/8 square points on order, too. The 25% off code tipped me over. I ordered without a second thought. I just got the plain white scales. If I love the blade, I can always get some nice custom scales made for it.

Hope you enjoy your new purchase str8tlkr, but IMHO, you should have gone for the Boker Elite. If you didn't like it, Id have taken it off you and even paid the postage!! Hahahaha!

I have a Ralf Aust 6/8 Spanish Point, Boker 6/8 Elite, Hart 7/8 Square Point and Hart Artisan 6/8 French Point. They are all totally different razors. All are great products.
The Aust is the most nimble and has the "hollowest" grind. It could be called a "Singing Blade". The craftsmanship is excellent.
The Boker Elite is significantly heavier than it looks because of the steel liners and it feels very substantial in the hand. I really prefer the shoulderless design to all others. It shaves like a typical full hollow. The customary Boker care and attention is seen in the fit and finish.
The Harts are the beefiest of the lot and require some additional effort to use but still the end result is a great shave. You know right from the get-go these are quarter-hollow grinds. A coarse beard is gone in a snap. The Harts can and do show evidence of "iffy" QC from time to time (especially the scales), but once you get them worked out they stand tall as a fine razor.
Hope you like the Hart..I like mine (just not my favorite).Last edited by Phoenix51; 11-18-2014 at 05:23 PM.

Here it is
Ok the Hart came in yesterday. This razor is pretty big but not big enough to make shaving with it cumbersome. No issues with quality. I love the walnut scales. It adds a rustic touch and just goes with the simplicity of the razor. It shaved like a dream; very sharp and very smooth. I stropped it (25 fabric, 50 leather) but probably didn't need it. I'm definitely happy with this decision.

Thanked: 0Ralf Aust 6/8 Spanish is my very first. Since then I already picked up another Soligen, Sheffield, and a old Shumate from various flea markets. I just wanted to give Hart a shot.

Thanked: 0LOL! I was right on when I said, 'It wasn't meant to be.' on the Hart Steel. A Thiers-Issard Bison 7/8 JUST came back in stock at a CERTAIN dealer the very next day when I checked, and I ordered it! I present for myself. IF I picked up the Hart, I definitely would've had to pass on the TI. Truly, "No door close without another one opening.".
