Thanked: 1Need some help identifying a DE and a few SR from a garage sale score
I was at a garage sale and picked up what I believe to be a 59(date code E4) Fatboy DE and a variety of straight razors that I am going to need a little help identifying. I have done a little research on my own and I think I may have a couple that could be nice razors. Here are the pictures, any help with years of production, quality, rarity, value and so on will be greatly appreciated. The reason I ask about rarity and value is so I don't ruin a really rare razor on my first restoration attempt.

Wade and Butcher Hollow Ground - Imgur

Germania Oxford Razor - Imgur
Genco Razor - Imgur
Unreadable Mark Razor - Imgur
Generic Black Razor - Imgur
Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 433I'm very sure that's a Gillette Fatboy and in very nice shape!! I would send the two Wade & Butchers out to get restored or at least work on the others first as they are old and very collectable
VERY nice finds!!!!

Thanked: 127Wow, Congrats!!
Very Nice Razors, i would give much for the chance of such a find as the big sheffield razors are more than rare in Europe, i sure you will like it :-)
The Gillette is really a FatBoy, it can easy be seen by the bigger twisting knob, a good Razor and in my eyes the best of the Gillette Adjustables. If its dirty inside you may have the chance to open it, some versions of the Fatboy had screwed nuts inside the knob to fix the razors inside that can easily be opened for cleaning and oiling.

Thanked: 1I am definitely going to be opening it up to clean it out. I have read a lot about the advantages of rhodium plating the DE. I think I will be calling in a favor from one of the jewelry shops I used to work for to get this done. Those razors look beautiful plated. Thanks for the confirmation on the Fatboy.
Haha, you caught me. I got so excited about this whole new hobby that I had share and I am really hoping to get as much info about these blades as possible. I have to say I am very impressed with how helpful and welcoming everyone here and on that subreddit are.

Thanked: 1The woman at the garage sale said she might have more razors for me to look at so I left my number with her and she called last night. I will be going back out tomorrow because she said she found more of "the bigger ones". I can only think that means more of the wades.
