Acrylic will work fine if the scales are made correctly, and pinned right.Stefan

The most durable and sturdy material I know is G10.

Same here & they seem to last longer than some of these new scales made from plastic. I have repaired some of the older horn a time or two but they do last a lot longer. I also have some G-10 I haven't used yet but i've heard that they are strong & I have seen some used by gssixgun that are very good looking & strong or he would't use them. I'll be using some jade green G-10 soon on a Green Lizard blade I have.

I don't make scales, but have some and have pinned some in G10. The stuff seems indestructible. JMO
