Default Cocobolo Soon to be Extinct??

Was just informed by a custom grip maker that the snazzy Cocobolo grips I wanted for my S&W 629 would be no longer available.
Seems the government has put Cocobolo on the endangered list.

I don't think this is extremely recent news, but it seems the repercussions are being felt now (i.e I'm not getting those Cocobolo grips, that's for sure).

Anyway, just a heads up if you think you may want a set of scales in this excellent wood anytime in the future.

yes it is a pretty wood, I have a supply of it and cant use it any more due to becoming allergic to the dust from working it, 629 is a fine choice, I have a few of the 29's but I bought an anaconda by colt and the smiths sit in the safe now. you should see my anaconda with curly maple target grips.

There are some fine looking blanks there. I always thought circassian walnut was very nice too.
