Here's a quick pic I took of it just now. It is a #14 Filarmonica especial para barbas duras, tridur.
It's a NOS piece, but has not been stored optimally, so it could use a good cleaning/polishing.
Still it is a full 8/8 with absolutely no hone wear.
I hope you'll enjoy it for years to come.

That is exactly where I'm at with the Tim Zowada meteorite steel with ivory scales ........

I should stay outta' this, because I don't own a Filarmonica, and unless prices reduce drastically, I probably never will! Never shaved with one either, but I do know this much .. Unless some alloying agent came from outer space and landed on earth, (see Tim Z's Meteorite) the steel is completely alike to other blades of the era, save .01% +or- of an alloying metal here or there. This is even considering a proprietary blend.

Steel alloys are chosen for the ideal properties for different applications. Today, there are a few more choices, but again, they're not much more than a bit more "gilding on the lily." As an aside, during the era of the manufacturte of these blades, Spain was not known for either the craftsmanship of their workforce, or the quality of their home-grown steel. Avid firearm enthusiasts, particularly shotgunners, can bear this out with a slight jog of the memory.

Now, I don't know one way or the other where the Filarmonica was produced, but Robin's dissertation on the matter makes good sense to me. Further, I recall when Puma, LeJaguar, dubl-ducks and a few others were the greatest thing since sliced bread. Perhaps a case of mass hysteria brought on by the phase of the moon? I don't know, but I do know this, I've got some top brands and lots of great shavers, and the difference between the top dawgs, and the middle of the roaders, is miniscule. As far as grind goes, given the equipment of the day, I'll wager that the grinds of no two razors was exactly the same. Grinding wheels wear through the grinding process, and periodic dressing. A money-making concern will not trash wheels a little off diameter, and still make money!

I'm not saying the Filarmonicas are not nice razors .. I'd love to have one ... But by the same token, I'm loathe to believe that Merlin waved his magick wand over any of them!

I noticed Neil looks out for you & you're a lucky guy for that! I envy you...............
I could probably own a nice Filly if I didn't have RAD! I see some nice ones out there, still new with nice new prices!
I will repay the nice favor Birnando is doing though! I can't let him do that & me not do something for him one day.
