Yes, that is probably the best answer you are going to get. I was wondering about the helmet also not being a direct copy of the German Stahlhelm. Seems logical enough to me.

I doubt it has anything to do with anything Nazi. A Samurai helmet for sure and a good luck Swastika.

It is quite common to find them in other situations

Search "Shorinji Kempo" and you will find many of them from Japan

The earliest known object with swastika-motifs is a bird from the tusk of a mammoth from the paleolithic settlement of Mezine, Ukraine dated to 10,000 BCE.

Here is some info from another forum.

    "Yet again, a beautiful razor!

Sorry to throw a spanner into the works, but I thought that I ought to point out that during the 1920's -1945, Buddhism wasn't highly regarded in Japan. The practice of Buddhism suffered during the time, as the official religion, Shinto became very popular. Shintoism was viewed as being more Japanese than Zen (which was a Chinese import, albeit many centuries ago).

I personally think that it is unlikely that the razor bears a Buddhist emblem. It is probably a testament to the rising power in Germany.

The hooked cross is ancient and found in many ancient cultures. It is considered very lucky, and except for a brief decade, was only used as a benevolent and benign symbol."

Now that is the thing about info on straight razors, a lot of it is conjecture as no or incomplete records exist. Just check out the threads on where people think the Filly razors may or may not have been made to see that in action. It is down to picking the interpretation that you think is best. Personally, I do not think it is likely that there is a connection to Nazi Germany. OTH what does anyone really know for sure.

Regardless of the markings (and I wish you luck getting to a definitive answer), it's a very interesting, quality find.

The symbol commonly called a Swastika was originally from Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. The helmet (to me at least) appears to be more like a Samurai helmet.
