I think he may be referring to this one:

Thanks Joe.. I love it when I am right

Those are C-MON "Stainless" scales stuck on a very late model DD Satin Baby.... I call it late model because of the very Dovo-ish styled blade, that part may or may not be correct but I think I am right...

Back some years ago I bought some pocket knives off of that seller. Cripple Creek (Bob Cargill) knives and maybe a case double x (pre '64). He has consistently had good stuff but when he was getting rid of a lot of his personal collection , a few years ago, it was really great old stuff. Nice duck and I've never seen that model before.

Hmm, nice catch. I was watching that auction and never even noticed that. The bidding got out of control near the end anyway.

But......Now I have another C-Mon to go after.

Glen, you've got an eagle eye. I didn't catch that. Not such a rare one after all.

What we call a "Bench Baby" in restoration circles,,,,

Where you take pieces of various razors on the bench and mate them together into a new fully functioning razor...

This practice has been going on for years it isn't something new, and the razor may have been "built" some time ago...

Also keep in mind, that reading the posts from Joe and Jimmy both who have quite a bit of experience they missed it too, the ONLY reason I caught it is that I own a Satin Baby DD, and I own a Stainless C-MON...

It is possible that that is the way the razor was originally assembled. There are lots of examples of blades and scales being mixed and matched from companies that worked together. Often, a close look at the pinning can give some insight, but not always.
