I just wipe the exterior with a paper towel to avoid water spots. The frypan, and the saute illustrate what it is like if you don't wipe after washing. I don't polish. Took me awhile to figure it out. The hammered pieces, which I do wipe, end up with a patina but not mottled/spotted like the aforementioned.

The tin gets dark but that is alright. A bit of a learning curve to use silicone utensils to avoid damaging the soft tin, but the advantages, for those who like tin/copper are there. YMMV ........

With most things folks acquire there is a difference between collecting and hoarding or acquiring. A good analogy is with watches. A watch enthusiast buys whatever strikes his fancy and as he tires of them sells them at a loss and buys more. A watch collector has a theme to his madness, maybe japanese watches or chronographs or American Pocketwatches or complicated watches. He is well versed in the items he collects as far as what makes them tick-har har and the history of the companies that made or makes them and may even do his own servicing. He is far less likely to part with his collection unless he has duplicates. Of course some folks can be both with two separate collections. One part is a serious collection and the other is just hoarding.

So which are you? Are you a razor enthusiast or a razor collector? I'm both. I collect Dubl Ducks but hoard other razors though I have thinned out my enthusiast part quite a bit.

At least you are admitting you have a problem. My habit is still under control...ok. Maybe not.

Beautiful stuff! If it wasn't for the usual tin lining (which I can't get re-lined here in Portugal), I'd have more copper pans - the SS coating ones are really expensive, specially those that work on induction.
