    I agree. 4/8 or smaller can be a little tricky when you're learning how to strop. I think that 5/8 is an ideal size for a first razor. Get some experience with it and figure out if you want to go bigger or smaller from there. I wouldn't worry to much about resale value though. It's all about finding whats works for you.

    I have a current production Special Coiffeur that is labelled 5/8 but is about as wide as my 6/8 razors. It handles well and is one of my favorite blades.
