True, Spendur, yes, in some cases. In my case, however, I was familiar with Numax, and had honed one for a friend a while back. So when I purchased this one, I knew I was getting a new old stock and never used model. Now, it could have been a factory reject kept in the wrapper and in the original box. Or perhaps not necessarily a reject, but a genuine lemon without the manufacturer knowing it. Sometimes these vintage razors are a surprise, both good or bad.
