Talking Buying my first razor, help!

    Hey Folks,
I've been shaving for about a month with a Dovo Shavette I got from AoS and I'm ready to upgrade to the real thing.

What all do I need? I have cream, everything I need for pre and post shave, and a nice brush. So far in my cart I have a 5/8 Dovo with a simple black acrylic scales. I don't know much about strops or what I need for razor/strop maintenance.

    Shoping on shavenation.com.

Hurry before my wife discovers what I'm doing

Razor oil or camilia oil I think...helps prevent rust like mine lives in the bathroom... not the best place for hi carbon steel but its out peering kids way and under my control so she gets stropped and oiled every night before she goes to bed lol

I don't think you need the oil unless you are going to store it for a period of time-especially since you are in the desert. You can probably hold off on the strop paste for a while.
