I deleted my previous post. I thought you lived in Portland OR. I suggested a visit to PRC. I see it's Portland MI. Visiting PRC may not be an option.
I will have to check out Ralph Aust razors as well the ones that I see on SRD sell pretty fast, I wish I could stop by PRC and check out what they do and see the process its just a little ways away from me lol.

cut and pasted from another thread, there are probably more now, if you use the search box (top right) and type in "portland razor" you will get about 10 pages of hits
    Phrank and Razorrookie01 like this.

I think he was just referring to a custom razor Maker i.e. Tim not specifically PRC....

Indeed. Tim is not affiliated with Portland Razors as far as I know.

I was referring to Tim from Tim Zowada knifes here in michigan, from the comment that tcrideshd had posted about visiting a razor makers shop.

If you are willing to wait a week I will be stopping at PRC next Thursday. I can ask any questions you may have and take some pics as well.

The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Rec'd the "Siren" model last week. It replaces the "Gustave" and has improvements IMO; Jimps have been added and the notch in the heel is gone. It arrived shave ready, with directions on its use and care and a nice storage sleeve. Beautiful razor...very nice shave. It has a different feel than the very hollow Boker I've been using and it doesn't make the skritchy noise. I like it very much and I don't think you will go wrong with a PRC razor.
