It's your money and by all means spend it how you choose. I own two PRC custom razors and two Ralph Aust razors. You will not suffer buyers remorse from purchasing a Ralph Aust razor.

I deleted my previous post. I thought you lived in Portland OR. I suggested a visit to PRC. I see it's Portland MI. Visiting PRC may not be an option.

If you want a custom, PRC is very responsive and will work with you to fashion the razor you want. I'm waiting a bit to pull the trigger, but my experience in communicating with them is great. You should find good responses in the links provided earlier. American made by young, energetic craftspeople. Should be worth the wait.

After reading the threads it seems that everyone has a positive experience with PRC even his responses to what people think were classy and respectful ... to me PRC is at the top of my list but I want to check out all the options and go from there so I may take a few days and look around before I pull the trigger as well.

    I will happily second this.

I've been in contact with Scott for a couple of weeks now for a Damascus custom.

Comms have been nothing short than stellar.

If you want to visit the maker I believe Tim Zowada is up in your neck of the woods. Won't get too much better than he makes them Tc

I have heard of Tim yet I forgot all about him, he does beautiful work. I think he is up in the U.P. but that would be a great idea to visit him if he would be up for that !
