Thread: My next purchase

I'm trying to decide which razor to buy next. I've narrowed it down to two.
The divi best quality 6/8 or the theirs issued 6/8 with faux tortoise scales. Any thoughts?

That's an easy one, vintage Sheffield blade.....

The 6/8 TI that is half off is a sweet deal, if you can still get it from Lehmans. It's out of stock at the moment so you have to wonder how long it will be before it's back in stock.

Why not a Revisor wedge?
That's my next one.

What, pray tell, do you have in your current rotation?

I know my preference evolved during my first couple of years.
Razors I never thought I would like (Square, Spike, Spanish) became favorites.
Likewise the grinds changed, getting meatier.

So it might help to hear what you have or have tried and liked, or not.
It's all very YMMV and there is no "right" (or "wrong") razor...

If I had to chose between those two I would take the TI.

T I would be a great choice. Harder steel . Holds an edge longer and a little more weight for control.

Many times seen posts which indicate the Dovo Best is not that great a razor. I have one Dovo (Palisander) and have to say my Bokers, Ralf Austs and Theirs Issard blades (which are in the same approximate price range) are all better choices when it comes to overall quality.
For <$110 the T I would be the hands down choice, but the wait could be tedious. Maybe check with Lehman's and see when you could expect shipment and take it from there.

I'm with Phrank on this one Go old school. As of now if memory serves I noticed your collection contains all new razors. Break the new razor habit and go old school.
It will blow your mind, believe me.
