I saw this Kamisori in the wild today. Besides translating the Kanji, can anybody explain the colored dots?

Hi Stefan, it says Miyabun Special Selection.
    宮文特選

    I also found this,
    http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...ack-razor.html

And Miyabun, seems to be a knife shop in Hokkaido, but might be a different Miyabun.
    Hope this helps.

The top 2 kanji mean Tamahagane, cant say who the maker is though.

I have gone trough all the kanji symbols...and the Iwasaki page for the last 2-3 hours and i could not find anithyng that would match. I even looked at the iwasaki tamahagane markings because i thaught the tamahagane kanji looked similar at some point...but no luck...can't find anything anywhere.
Oh well i'll keep looking...can't be the only one out there. Thank you Fikira...your blog is the best!

also it does not have the usual iwasaki notch at the top and no markings on the tang...so it's probably has nothing to do with iwasaki...it looks old

    Thanks for the compliment,

I can confirm, it indeed has nothing to do with Iwasaki, but nice to see you're committed!
I'll keep looking, and I hope that Arsenico, who is much more capable then me, can give the solution
