I saw this Kamisori in the wild today. Besides translating the Kanji, can anybody explain the colored dots?

Interesting find out there in the wild, I do hope you get your questions answered.
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Hi Stefan, it says Miyabun Special Selection.
宮文特選
I also found this,
http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...ack-razor.html
And Miyabun, seems to be a knife shop in Hokkaido, but might be a different Miyabun.
Hope this helps.

Thanked: 156I have gone trough all the kanji symbols...and the Iwasaki page for the last 2-3 hours and i could not find anithyng that would match. I even looked at the iwasaki tamahagane markings because i thaught the tamahagane kanji looked similar at some point...but no luck...can't find anything anywhere.
Oh well i'll keep looking...can't be the only one out there. Thank you Fikira...your blog is the best!

Thanked: 156also it does not have the usual iwasaki notch at the top and no markings on the tang...so it's probably has nothing to do with iwasaki...it looks old
