Here is one with the same stamp, but different blade profile. The VR are to designate a time period with Queen Victoria's reign (1837-1901). I have seen WR stamped ones for King William IV (1830-1837). The VR on mine is below the crown and not on the sides like yours. I'm guessing yours is from the first half of her reign.

In the right hands, a masterpiece, perhaps?
    Pretty close as-is
It will be a great shaver. I'm thrilled I got it and at a steal of a price too.
And I agree..... in the right hands it will become a masterpiece.
See if some magic can be worked on it.....

I was looking at a few different threads on razors like the one I have..... And the before and after pics were magnificent! I have no idea on the age of mine.... 130 years old? LOL Close enough to me. Too bad they didn't put a production date on the blades.....lol

Your Razor is Beautifully done up!

    JR tang stamp

Note there is no VR, but rather the statement "CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES"

Here's another view of the inside of a JR case.

Your razor is an unmolested beauty and will be an excellent shaver.

    ENJOY!

I've got one that looks almost identical to this, except it says "Fine Silver Steel Warranted"

Is that a repair on the one set of scales? If so I like that. If not I like it also!

Yes, it is. I remember that set from way back. I will find it! Neat!

Meh. All of Wullie's old pics got dumped. Reckon he had nothing to say!
