I always thought Les Croix by Johann Breidorh was the mith of straight razors.

My grail razor came into my possession a while ago: Wootz steel Joe Chandler custom. It is such a unique blade that I haven't had an itch to search for a new grail... In fact, I think it was the last razor I purchased.

And is made by Wade and Butcher, err Greaves, I mean Rodgers and sons, or was it Boker,,,,

But if my wife and I do decide to go to Italy next year, like Phoenix said it'll be a Maestro Livi if only for the pure pleasure of watching it being born..I will enjoy holding it while I wait for a stand by flight home since I will be selling one of my tickets to pay for the razor.
Ummm, you think they will let you carry it on board that plane? Don't think so! Better in checked baggage. Or better yet, mail it back insured in case the baggage handlers want to take it home with them!

Lets face facts, Phrank has already bought up all the grail razors out there. All that's left are tokens to roadside deities.

But in all seriousness, once I acquired my 1820's near wedge razor and an unused, unhoned quarter hollow Eskilstuna recently, all my religious fervor has subsided until I have had time to fully enjoy them. Then I will once again don my Crusader's armor and enter the auction battleground again.

I should've gotten one of these, but only one of the three he made has special appeal to me and it was unavailable
Years later I have got something more special in the works, though, proving that "there is always another razor"

I always thought there is no 'holy grail of straights' until one day I ended up in a Milano church after hours.

It's a bit fuzzy but it's still pretty clear the guy's clean shaven which proves there was indeed a holy grail & razor

I certainly remember what happened to the mug:

Yeah, that one will keep you for a while. it that razor Al Penury wootz? I have an early integral wootz hunter with a stag handle and mecum buttcap from Al. Perhaps a really cool razor done in tasteful mosaic damascus for your next grailesque purchase?

Right now, mine is also a newly acquired Wade & Butcher "Celebrated - for barbers use" 8/8.
