Love my Wade & Butcher frameback. Beautiful shaver.

I love them. I've got a very old Wostenholm frameback which is one of my best shaving razors. It never seems to ever need honing. I've also got a custom Brian Brown frameback that I had him make for me as a modern interpretation of the Mappin Lancet Edge.

Well I don't hate 'EM but I don't love 'em either. I prefer a more traditional look.

Thanked: 3224Yea, pretty well sums it up for me too. They are not as aesthetically pleasing to my eye as the traditional blades and look, to me, like they are cheaply made. By cheaply made I do not mean inferior materials just quicker and easier to mass produce by their design. I can't fault their ability to give superb shave though.

Actually, I found out for the most part that this is a supposed myth, they are actually more expensively made and tend towards higher quality razors, as to put the various parts together, the sometimes mixing of various metals, take considerably more craftsmanship than the single blades...

I have several framebacks, Sheffield, Swedish and Japanese and love them all. IMO, bevel angles are a major consideration when honing them..
