I get an awesome shave out of this razor. I absolutely love this one. I am strongly thinking of getting it fully restored.
    Have a great shave.

I don't know if it has been or not. It is very possible it has been rescaled.

I think the scales are from a Hi Ha De 'Senior'.
It has some wear on it. I think just getting some scales to, er, scale would be nice.
If you like the shave, seems all that is necessary to me.

You might search that barber supply in Princeton. Would give an approximate age.

My guess would be 1900-1930. Definitely after 1891.

    Hello Roger,

The 'B' in Princeton B. S. Co stood for Beauty not Barber, which hampers searching the net.

The company was run by Jim Massey (or Jim Masey and Princeton Barber Supply Co if you believe the newspaper records):

    Name: PBSCo-2.jpg

The above was from the Jasper Indiana Herald, 1951. I think that the official obituary is more accurate, though:

    Name: PBSCo-1.jpg
Views: 314
Size: 100.4 KB

He was born in 1922 and would have been 28 years old at the time of that newspaper article. The obituary says he managed Princeton Beauty Supply Co for 40 years, so depending on the inception date of the company it could have been run (in its original form) into the 1960s or 1970s or started in the late 1940s (he served in WW2) or early 1950s.

BUT - that is assuming that PBSCo did not exist before Jim's management - after all, the obituary says he managed the company, not that he owned it.

    Regards,
    Neil

Well, PBSCo was still in operation in the 1970s:

The above is from a 1974 edition of the Jasper Herald. It also appears that a lady called Doyne Hayden owned half of the company:

and that it was her families business, so it was probably in operation before Jim Massey took over managing it.

    Regards,
    Neil
