Thanked: 4828Ralf Aust, Dovo, TI, Revisor. They are all fairly substantial producers.

How many people do you think work for each of them then?

Thanked: 96I went down your road a couple of months ago and got the Aust. Great shaver for a beginner. Great quality. When you get it from Lynn it's ready to shave not shave ready. You may want to consider the modular strop. I got Lynn's and it is very easy to strop because it is stationary and a firm surface. He recommended it. It comes with different magnetic leather and felt which makes it easy to change. Also diamond spray. Lynn also recommended a 12k stone. This stone really refreshes the blade and is easy to use. Just lapp it and follow Lynn's directions on his video.

Thanked: 4828Honestly I could care less how many people work at them. I see no relevancy to that point. They are producers of large volumes of straight razor that deliver their products to to consumer or reseller without them being ready for use. That's is the whole point. It is odd that any item would require further work in order to be able to use it. A new items is most often ready to use, except for razors. I find it unusual. You obviously do too or you would not have posted #18

Thanked: 96SALES VS. SERVICE
This is the same reason for buying from someone like Lynn and Don. SERVICE. Try getting the quality, service and pride on ebay. Their help when I started was invaluable. Got the right razor, strops, stones etc and they took the time to answer my questions without making me feel like a idiot. With Lynn and Don, you get a Ready to Shave not Shave Ready. Has my Loyalty no matter what products he's selling.

Thanked: 96MONEY AND TIME. I agree, they put so much time, material and man hours and cut back on the final touch. That's what we remember not the quality of the razor. Sad

I'll stick with my original terminology. "shave ready"
What does "shave ready" mean?

But don't forget that for some of us, putting an edge on a new razor is half the fun. For as many people that find it an inconvenience, there's probably just as many that wouldn't have it any other way. But I understand why it would be important for many to have it come ready to go.
