    Default First ever restore!

Thought I'd post my first ever restore. I picked up the wade and butcher at an antique/thrift store, but the scales were pretty beat up. I decided to hand sand the blade and use all hand tools to make the rosewood scales. It was a blast.

I'd like to thank Charlie Lewis and Gsixgun for their awesome videos and guidance.

    Thanks FranfC!

Yeah, I pretty much just used a coping saw, glue, and sandpaper. Charlie Lewis's videos were really helpful.

From my experience, your final finish on this blade is excellent. Not just as a first attempt, but for the most experienced restorer. I've had some very good results myself, and know exactly how much time and effort went into making this happen. I have several restores coming up soon now that my semester is over, the main one being honey horn with a W&B FBU. Keep at it! You already have more skill than 95% of people selling restored razors on Ebay..... LOL

Wow, thanks! I lucked out and found an amazing razor. It wasn't in too bad of shape. There was some minor pitting and hone wear, but luckily sanding night after night was relaxing It was really fun and I'm definitely hooked. Now I just need to learn how to hone!

My sentiments on your beautiful work as well. So many razors on eBay have been over worked on a buffer wheel and then presented as "professionally cleaned"
I see them and feel sad.
