I've owned plenty of Waterville razors. They are second to none imo, congrats on a real nice razor.

There is some light surface rust on this razor. What is the best way to remove it without taking off the gold wash or ruining the razor?

Some fine wet and dry paper will get rid of the surface rust without too many problems. The gold wash is pretty delicate so if you need to remove rust anywhere where it is, it'll go too.
