    I found some pieces of old Tamahagane steel, sections of antique samurai swords called the nakago sections...he has just finished one and it shipping it to Val...not sure of the exact dating on the steel but believe at least 300 years old.

    Yep.....................isn't it a certain level of satisfaction when ya get a "new" straight? I might not be brand new but it's new to you & that's all that counts.

    Our (neutered) male likes to join me when I soak in the tub. He lays against the warm metal. He will also head butt me for attention. When it is a shave day the door gets closed firmly. He is quite annoyed at this, but it beats bleeding.

    I got hooked on Genco's and have purchased 4 in the last month. The blades are amazing. I got one that dates back over 60 years with the original everything. Looks brand new. Was in the original box. Some others needed work but shave great. You can really collect some vintage razors at reasonable prices.
