Love the look of the Red Point. Love the feel of the inlays. Love the stability of triple pins. Love the historical value of a good box. Love the price. Betting you love the shave, too.

If it is an Anton Wingen, it is a fine razor. The US made Red points have also been described as excellent but I have never owned the Utica branded ones.

On the box I see Anton Wingen Jr.

Hi, here is a photo of the back of tang - does that help and is this 'good' or 'bad' or just plain informative?

Anton Wingen is a very fine razor, you'd be hard put to find a better one IMO, I have three of them and they are all excellent shavers and well made. I'll try to post another image or two later today.

Nice score! Be careful of the scales and inlay, they seem to be fragile after 100 years or thereabouts.

    Cheers, Steve

Here's a 6/8 Anton Wingen Othello, their flagship razor. Basically the same as the 6/8 Red Point except it has jimps top and bottom and a little inlaid image of Othello on the scales.

There are two types of Red Point razors: first mark as Utica Knife Razor Co., second - Anton Wingen Jr.

Finally got around to take some photos of the uncleaned/unhoned razor as it looks now.
There are some scratches/hone wear on the blade but I am hoping it's won't be too hard to get it in good looking and shaving condition again.
The scales seems to be intact and the red dot is very colorful.
