That's exactly my thoughts when I saw the heel ground away. It was probably chipped or cracked. I already knew it was shortened looking at it. I have a nice Wade & Butcher beveled spine blade that has a crack in the heel so it is a candidate for a heel grind. Still not a bad looking Greaves but I hope they didn't have to shorten it too much! They could have actually shortened the scales I think.........hmmmm maybe not though.
